Now the war is over – Chesham 1919
May 9, 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm£4
1919 – The war to end all wars was over but things would never be the same again in Chesham. But life continued even as many families mourned the loss of fathers, brothers and sons. There were discussions on the need for housing and the continuing rationing, to reminiscences about how the High Street was changing, to the form of Chesham United and the need for a War Memorial.
The talk will look at Chesham at prayer, at leisure and going about rebuilding their lives after the Great War.
Talks are held in the Harding Room, upstairs in Chesham Library.
Places cost £4 per person and money raised will go towards Chesham Museum’s future relocation.
There is a limit of 25 places for each talk. To book your place, visit Orbitpress 11 Market Square, Chesham.
