Chesham Museum’s new Insta team

Chesham Museum might not have a permanent address at the moment, but it is still working hard to engage new audiences with Chesham’s rich cultural heritage. 

Recently, the museum has taken on two new volunteers – Millie Harrison and Kit Antrobus – who have launched Chesham Museum’s first ever Instagram page. 

Millie and Kit are both studying for their History A Level at Chesham Grammar School, and were keen to launch this exciting new project. The pair share regular posts, stories and reels about our historic town and its past inhabitants. Recent posts have explored the physical history of the museum itself, as well as the mosque, the railway, and Chesham as a market town. It is hoped that the new Instagram page will enable the museum to reach young people from a diverse range of backgrounds and help them to digitally connect with the museum and days gone by.  

The duo have got off to a flying start with their page – gaining over 150 followers in the first couple of weeks. When asked about the next steps, the pair said: 

We hope to post more content about museum artefacts, stories about past inhabitants and historical fun facts about our town. Stay tuned for competitions and events run by the museum which we would love for everyone to get involved with.
