Four children aged approximately 9 to 13 sit around a wooden table in a cozy, well-lit living room. Three are writing in notebooks with pencils, while one uses a tablet. A large poster on the wall behind them reads: “Welcome to the Amazing Young Museum Writers Challenge. If you’re aged 12 or younger, you can submit creative writing in any form, including stories, poetry, anecdotes, comic strips. Show us what you can do with words!” The scene conveys concentration, creativity, and a welcoming home environment.

Title: The Fuzzwackle

Prompt: “Two…three…four…” You mutter, counting the boots under your breath. You turn around

Suddenly, you spot a very strange object sitting on the central table. What’s even stranger is that you don’t remember seeing it when you first came into the room. It’s a small black rabbit- about the size of your hand. Its’ staring eyes are deep purple and sprouting from its’ back are a pair of leathery wings.

“I wonder what it is,” You move to pick it up.

“I’m a ‘she’ not an ‘it’,” A voice sniffs, “And I’m a Fuzzwackle, just so you know.”

You stare down at the winged rabbit in surprise. Its’ mouth remains closed, but to your surprise it suddenly winks.

“What’s a Fuzzwackle?” You ask.

“Me,” The rabbit says smugly, “I can be found in every museum. And I am very special. You see, by touching me you can teleport anywhere in time.”

“That’s not true,” You say.

“Oh yes it is!” The rabbit argues, hopping up and down, “Why don’t you try it and see?”

Tentatively, you reach out to touch the rabbit…
