Matt Writtle is a professional photographer with 30 years’ experience working for editorial and commercial clients in the UK and around the world.

In 2020 Matt released the Arts Council England funded project The River Meadow at the Pile of Stones which was a series of photographs documenting the tangible impact of urbanisation on the River Chess chalk stream in Chesham, Buckinghamshire, since the first settlers arrived around 8000BC.

The 20 images were exhibited outside at, or as near to, the location the photograph was taken to form a walking trail that follows the downstream course of the River Chess which springs in the town.

Matt is giving his walk for Chesham Museum as part of the museum’s programme of events linked to our recent From the River to the Railway exhibition, funded by Arts Council England and the Chesham and Villages Community Board.

The walk lasts for approximately 2 hours and starts from Lowndes Park by the zebra crossing at St Mary’s Way

The walk is FREE but pre-booking by email to emily@emilytoettcher.co.uk
