Explore how toys have evolved over time and the rich history of toy making in Chesham

We have a variety of replica and vintage toys and are busy preparing the box with teacher notes and activities that will meet the Key Stage One ‘Changes within living memory’ time period required.

We have over 25 toys, including several locally made ‘Chiltern Toy Company’ and ‘Amersham Works’ toys from the 1940s to the 1960s in the box. It can be loaned out for a fun session for older Key Stages and discussion of how toys have evolved over time.

We also have a laminated picture pack for chronology exercises that accompanies it and a detailed power point explaining the role of Chesham’s four toy factories clearly linking Chesham and local history to the topic.

Cost: £ 30
Ages: Key Stage One and any age
