‘Hugmee’ teddy bear goes back to its birthplace in Waterside
We wanted to say a huge thank you to the lovely people @upriseupdigital who kindly invited us to visit their premises last week – the site of the old teddy bear factory in Waterside.
@upriseupdigital are a data driven digital media agency who are relentless in the pursuit of ‘exceptional’ for socially positive organisations. They told us that 90% of their clients are charities ❤️.
Thank you to the managing director, John Onion, for making us feel so welcome and showing us around the beautiful office and comparing it to the old factory photographs we have.
The group were then lucky enough to visit another gem of a local business Silverson Machines and were shown around their premises too. Silverson Machines have office space in the old factory too!
Keith Fletcher of the Chesham Local History Group who organised the visit for us remarked:
‘We also had a fabulous tour of Silverson’s factory. A company that Chesham should be proud of. A leader in their field of mixing machines, great apprenticeship scheme, 150 staff and exporting all over the world.’
Half term fun
